TSB Awards $10,000 Scholarships to Local High School Students
Torrington Savings Bank is pleased to announce that Kathryn Pagano and James Watson are TSB’s 2021 Scholarship Award recipients. Each year the Bank offers two graduating seniors a 4-year, $10,000 academic scholarship ($2,500 per year).
Kathryn will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute where she will major in Biochemistry. Graduating 23rd in her class from Torrington High School with a cumulative GPA of 94.9058, she was a member of the THS Marching Band, National Honor Society, Interact Club, and the Science Club. Katie was the class representative to the Student Council her junior year and Secretary of the Student Council her senior year. She has been a volunteer for the annual St. Jude Telethon through high school and for the Tour of the Litchfield Hills fundraiser for the Cancer Care Fund of Litchfield Hills since middle school. Katie has danced since the age of three, graduating from the Torrington School of Ballet into The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory.
James will also be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he will major in Engineering. Graduating from Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington with a cumulative GPA of 4.596, he was a member of the tennis team, National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Honor Society, United Way Youth Board, Film Club, and Science Club. He also participated in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program (HOBY) and received the President’s Bronze Volunteer Service Award in 2019. As a senior, James was Vice President of his class.
