Torrington Savings Bank’s Online Privacy Pledge to Consumers

This Online Privacy Pledge (“the Pledge”) describes how information is collected by and through websites, mobile applications, and other online interfaces that are owned, operated, or controlled by Torrington Savings Bank (collectively, the “Sites”).  By accessing or using any Site, you confirm your consent and agreement to the terms of this online privacy pledge as may be in effect at that time. 

With regard to persons who use or obtain our products and services for their own personal, family, or household purposes, this Pledge also supplements, but does not replace, and should be read in conjunction with Torrington Savings Bank’s Privacy Notice.

Effective Date

This Pledge is effective as of March 2022. 

We reserve the right to amend this Pledge at any time to address future developments of Torrington Savings Bank, our Sites or changes in industry or legal trends. If we make changes to this Pledge, we will revise the “Effective Date” section above. Any changes to this Pledge will become effective upon the posting of the revised Pledge on this Site. By continuing to use the Site following such changes, you will be deemed to have agreed to such changes. Types of Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you may provide directly when completing forms, surveys, applications, or transacting with us, such as your name, home address, your email address, your telephone number, your account number, or transaction information.  Additionally, we also collect information that you do not provide directly, such as:

Device and Carrier Information

We may collect information about your device such as your phone number, the device model, identity of the carrier and the name and version of the operating system.

Location Tracking

There may be certain information transmitted to us regarding your location when you log in or request information through our Sites.  We collect the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device to help determine your physical location for Our Sites which may be analyzed to assist us with fraud detection and for other security purposes.

Transaction Information

We may collect information when you initiate a transaction (for example, when you upload a check image while using Torrington Savings Bank Mobile Deposit). This information will only be used or shared in order to provide the service that you requested.

Cookies

We use cookies to provide you with a better online experience. A cookie is a small text file that can be placed on your system when you visit a website. Cookies allow us to collect information such as browser type, time spent on a website, pages visited, language preferences, and information about your relationships with us. When you use a hyperlink to visit the website of another person or entity, you leave our Sites. The content, accuracy, and opinions expressed and other links provided by these resources are not investigated, verified, monitored, or endorsed by Torrington Savings Bank. You may be asked to provide personally identifying information by operators of other websites you visit. These website operators may also collect information through the use of cookies, pixel tags and other similar technologies. Information collected by other website operators may be used by them in accordance with the website operator’s policies and procedures. If you have any questions about a website operator’s use of your personal information, you should review that website operator’s privacy policies and ask the website operator directly. We are not responsible for a website operator’s use of any information the website operator obtains about you.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection

Making Sure Your Information Is Accurate

It is important for us to have your most accurate and up-to-date contact information.  If any of your contact information has changed, please contact your local banker or call our Customer Care Center at (860) 496-2152.

Aggregation Websites

Please use caution when using aggregation websites. Aggregation websites offer the ability to access all your financial account information on one website. To do this, an aggregation provider may request access to your usernames and passwords. You should use caution and ensure that the aggregator company has appropriate policies and practices to protect the privacy and security of any information you provide or to which they are gaining access. We are not responsible for the use or disclosure of any Personal Information accessed by any other company or person to whom you provide your username and password.

All transactions initiated by an aggregation website, using access information you provide are considered to be authorized by you, whether or not you were aware of the specific transaction. If you decide to revoke the authority you have given to an aggregation website, we strongly recommend that you change your password to ensure that the aggregation website cannot continue to access your account.

Use of Online Planning Tools

We make planning tools, such as mortgage and savings calculators available. We or our service providers do not currently store information that you enter into one of these planning tools or calculators.
