Chartered in Connecticut in 1868, Torrington Savings Bank is one of the longest established banks in the state. As a mutual savings bank, we are conservatively guided; strongly capitalized; safe and secure; and managed according to the best interests of our local communities. Our mutual status allows us to share our profits with our customers in the form of very attractive rates for both savings accounts and loans.

Over 150 Years of Success
Torrington Savings Bank celebrated 150 years in business in 2018. We are very proud of our past and present support of the communities we serve – through donations and employee volunteerism.
In 2022 Torrington Savings Bank gave over $280,000 to more than 200 groups, organizations, and individuals. This included $28,450 through the Bank’s matching gift program to local and national 501(c)(3) organizations. Almost $260,000 was contributed to support area fundraising efforts and event sponsorships. In addition, approximately $23,000 was awarded in scholarships and cash awards to area high school seniors and college students.
Our employees generously give their time through involvement in numerous different local non-profit organizations. In 2022, Torrington Savings Bank employees volunteered over 1,360 hours to various activities within the communities that we serve.
Torrington Savings Foundation launched its inaugural grant cycle in October of 2019 and in 2022 awarded $174,916 in support of agencies aligned with their mission to support neighborhood revitalization and education.
