Chartered in Connecticut in 1868, Torrington Savings Bank is one of the longest established banks in the state. As a mutual savings bank, we are conservatively guided; strongly capitalized; safe and secure; and managed according to the best interests of our local communities. Our mutual status allows us to share our profits with our customers in the form of very attractive rates for both savings accounts and loans.

Over 150 Years of Success
Torrington Savings Bank celebrated 150 years in business in 2018. We are very proud of our past and present support of the communities we serve – through donations and employee volunteerism.
In 2023 Torrington Savings Bank donated over $252,000 towards building strong communities by supporting non-profit organizations through sponsorships and contributions. This includes the Bank’s matching gift program to local and national 501(c)(3) organizations.
Approximately $21,500 was awarded in scholarships and additional benefits to help area high school seniors and college students achieve their dream of higher education.
Our employees generously give their time through involvement in numerous different local non-profit organizations. In 2023, Torrington Savings Bank employees volunteered over 1,580 hours to various activities within the communities we serve.
Torrington Savings Foundation launched its inaugural grant cycle in October of 2019 and in 2023 awarded over $214,000 in support of non-profit organizations aligned with the Foundation’s mission to support neighborhood revitalization and education.
